Knowing that the globalizaÂtion will give a significant impact to the young genÂeration, both parents and teachers from some national schools agreed to encourage students to learn traditional arts & culture such as practising traditional dance, tradiÂtional music, or follow extra-curricuÂla in painting class, drawing class, or even cooking class at school.

Most of school girls are keen on practising traditional dance toÂgether their school-mates. A dancÂing instructor will come regularly to school, teaching the students sevÂeral dances as they will perform on special occasions, like that Sunday morning, 24 April 2016 when 42 stuÂdents participated at the celebration of the 41st Anniversary of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) or BeauÂtiful Indonesia in Miniatur Park.
Accompanied by their special dance instructor, Dra. Trie Pujiaswati known as Mbak Trie, the students enÂjoyed their lesson in traditional dance from all over the 33 provinces. Under her own Arts & Culture Institution, Padepokan Parikesit, Trie mother of 2 grown up children and has been dancing since she was 5 years urges both parents and schools to open acÂtively the syllabus of Arts & Culture at school. She teaches traditional dance for tens of student at SD Sumbangsih.
A total of 6,200 high school stuÂdents, vocational school students, and students from some universities in Jabodetabek performed Ratoh JaÂroe dance from Aceh at Plaza Tugu Api Pancasila, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) to close the final day of the Anniversary festival which took place on Sunday, 24 April, 2016. Quoted the statement from BamÂbang Sutanto, Director of TMII, he said that dance performance is an attempt to preserve the culture of InÂdonesia and Ratoh Jaroe dance shall be recorded by Rekor Muri as a coÂlossal dance due to the involving of many dancers.
Prahoro Bayu Sanyoto, SE., repÂresentative of Jambi provincial govÂernment in TMII Jakarta was very happy to have the little ones from SD Sumbangsih to celebrate together the Anniversary of TMII at Anjungan Jambi. The students were accompaÂnied by their school master, Drs. AhÂmad Suparni.
Sekapur Sirih dance performed by 6 local dancers who were dressed up in Jambi outfits opened the proÂgram. Students frogm SD SumbangÂsih represented by 3 classes which were Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 showing their best dancing perforÂmances. When Karin, Allysia and their other 12 friends of Class 1 gave their performance in white uniform, most of the audiences smiled and even laughed looking at their cute movements; some looked sleepy, some are busy memorizing the movement of their friend’s hands or feet as everyone wants to show its best perÂformance in front of their teachers and families.
The show made by Class 2 with a total 18 young little dancÂers dressed up in green and red outfits, performing Angguk Tongkat. They looked like a palace’s gallant knight.
Umbrella dance was performed by 10 dancers with a combination of Class 3 and some other dancers from Padepokan Parikesit looked very graceful and charming and moreover the composition of color of their traditional outfits and the umbrellas made beauÂtifully their dance. It was a bit of hot day and even with the breeze blowing but not much, it was enough to reduce the stung air. MothÂers were busy capturing that wonderful moment, espeÂcially for their beloved when performed at stage. It was success day for Arts & Culture performance and all seems satisfied.
